Now that the holidays are over, and our lives are getting back to normal, it’s time to think about some MORE excitement: The new Magic: The Gathering set: FATE REFORGED!
Here’s a timeline for the set:
Fate Reforged PreRelease — 1/17-18
Fate Reforged Release — 1/23
Fate Reforged Game Day — 2/14-15
We’re expecting another amazingly fun PreRelease! We will have 3 sessions: Saturday @ Noon; Saturday @ 7pm; and Sunday @ 2pm. The Saturday Noon one will be the big one — the most exciting of them. There will be prizes, side games and an interactive centerpiece that players can unlock to win an additional booster pack of cards!
The Fate Reforged Prerelease presents players with a special opportunity to open a Prerelease Pack, choose a clan to raise their banner for, and build a deck with the help of a specially-designed seeded booster pack. In addition, each Prerelease Pack includes a button to identify their chosen clan. The battle for the fate of the clans begins at the prerelease!

The cost of this tournament is $24.99. All ages and skill-levels are welcome. Prizes will include 1 booster pack per person and more for the top places.
Pre-Registration is probably not necessary, but is certainly encouraged. Clan affiliation will be decided in order of registration, so it does help t order early. You can register in person, or online at our website.

Just a heads up, we are looking for a steady GM for our Wednesday Dungeons & Dragons Encounters 7pm session, and another one for a 2nd table for our bi-weekly Saturday afternoon Dungeons & Dragons Expedition sessions! Want to play a fantasy RPG but have no DM? Want to play a great great fantasy card game? Try the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game! There’s adventure to be had on the high seas when a group of press-ganged pirates becomes embroiled in the plots and plunder of the Shackles—an infamous island chain dominated by pirate warlords. But as these new swashbucklers make names for themselves, rival scalawags, enemy navies, legendary sea monsters, and the infamous Hurricane King himself seek to see them walk the plank. Who will survive when there’s loot on the line? The base game has been out for a few weeks now, but we just got in ALL of the expansions: Class Decks: Bard, Cleric, Fighter, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer and Wizard. Plus Playmats, Character Add-On Decks and even Adventure Deck 2: Raiders of the Fever Sea! Paizo just announced organized play for the Adventure Card Game and we’re looking in to doing that. Anyone want volunteer to run that?

What’s Going On, Tuesday Edition: Today: Charity Beer Tasting from 6-8pm; Worker Placement Games with Trent & Beth @ 6:30pm; Catanimaniacs @ 7:00pm. Wednesday: Riichi Mahjong @ 2-8pm; Netrunner Open Play @ 5pm-10pm; D&D Encounters @ 6pm and a second table @ 7pm; War Game Wednesday @ 7pm-10pm. We hosted a weekly Diplomacy game night early in the summer and had a blast. Now that Fall is here and things have settled down a bit, we are thinking of starting either another Diplomacy game or a weekly Game of Thrones Boardgame night on Tuesdays. Let us know if you are interested or have another ideal candidate for back-to-back(stabbing) weekly game nights you’d us to host!

The principle is the same as always–we buy the games you can’t hold onto anymore, count them to completion and sell them at great prices. Khans of Tarkir comes out on Friday, but in the meantime we’ve got some other great ones. Lost Legacy: Flying Garden is a game of risk, deduction and luck. Each turn you play a card in order to eliminate other players from the game or discover where the Lost Legacy card could be found. When the deck runs out of cards, the Investigation phase begins. The player who determines where the Lost Legacy can be found wins; if no one finds the Lost Legacy, then everybody loses! Play it with Lost Legacy: The Starship or by itself for quick round of fun! Now for Smash Up! — Monster Smash! Hide under the sheets! Monsters are coming! Smash Up: Monster Smash brings all the great horrors of the screen to your game of Smash Up. Can you master these horrifying factions to defeat your opponents? With new “power counter” mechanics, Monster Smash brings all-new excitement to your base smashing madness! And at long last Star Wars X-Wing Rebel Aces will be available Tuesday (maybe Wednesday). We’ve got a lot coming in, so you shouldn’t need to rush to get it, but you might want to call or massage us if you’re not going to make it until Thursday to make sure we have a copy for you.
